3-Dimensions to 2-Dimensions

Artist Statement:

     I waned to create a visually conceptual piece for this assignment. I decided to manipulate the piece that meant the most to me, and create a rotational composition that tied into the spiral that is part of the piece. In the center of the composition, through overlapping and mirrored images, is a wire knot.  I did this to create a focal point in the piece, that then would sent the eye in any particular direction and then rotate counterclockwise. The rotation of the image is aided by the spokes that spew out of the center, that then curve and protrude outward.
